| The 9 angels --- Girls' Generation!!! |
It’s been a long time since I opened and used my blog… whew! Well actually, I’ve been busy most of the time… really! ^_^ Ahmmmm… the last time I wrote, it was about my favorite K-pop idol, Kim Heechul from Super Junior. But right now, I’ll be talking about another K-pop group…
It’s really exciting to know that there are so many idol groups in Korea, but only a few are recognized worldwide. One of them is my favorite—Super Junior! But there’s actually another group I was a bit curious about, and after doing some research, you can’t help but like and love them... I mean, you’ll really SUPER love them. I’m talking about the girl group So Nyuh Shi Dae, better known as Girls’ Generation.
Let me tell you the story of how I got to know them… it’s a bit tragic actually T_T… Remember how I told you I met Super Junior? That was back in October 2010, right? Since then, I never really gave myself a chance to like or admire other K-pop groups. I was totally preoccupied with Super Junior (SuJu) most of the time, to the point where other K-pop groups didn’t even exist for me… ^_^
Anyway, it’s actually because of SuJu that I got to know this girl group, Girls’ Generation (SNSD). Honestly, I didn’t like them at all back then. Why??? Well, it’s because of that award thing where they won the 25th Golden Disk Award over SuJu… Hayzzz! I was so frustrated and upset that whenever I heard anything related to SNSD, I’d totally freak out. I’m really sorry, girls... =( I was just being stupid back then…
Hmmm… back to the story. After that, I got even more annoyed with other K-pop idols—especially SNSD. But one day, just out of curiosity, I searched them online just to see what was so great about them. At first, I didn’t read any articles because I wasn’t really interested—I just looked at their pictures and wallpapers. And my first reaction was: “Hayzz, just another ordinary group. Nothing special at all…”
And then I saw YoonA.
I recognized her from some of Super Junior’s music videos. Honestly, she was really pretty, and I found Seohyun kind of attractive too. But since I didn’t like their group back then and wanted to stay loyal to SuJu, I just pushed those feelings aside and focused more on SuJu… Hahahahaha ^_^
It’s funny how things turned out. Just this June 2011, I was watching some Super Junior videos on YouTube when I saw YoonA’s face in another video. Out of curiosity, I clicked on it. It was a show called “Girls Go to School.” While watching, I didn’t even realize I was starting to enjoy it. So I went back and watched it from the first episode to the last. Then I found another show called “Factory Girl.” I binge-watched both shows in one day!
That’s when I realized—they’re not bad at all. They’re just a group of girls chasing their dreams. From that moment on, I really started admiring them.
I started searching more about them online—their history, the members, their songs, backgrounds, everything. Then I looked up more of their shows on YouTube and found “Hello Baby” and “Horror Movie Factory” (those shows are super funny!). After three days of nonstop research, I totally fell in love with them—as in SUPER in love!
The member who really captured me completely (heart, body, and soul) was Tiffany. She’s just so lovely and sweet. And then there’s Taeyeon—her voice is no joke, like listening to an angel. Hayzzzz! I don’t even know how to express myself right now… I’m just completely crazy about them. When I look back on how I first judged them, I feel so stupid and pathetic… T_T
Now that you’ve heard my story, I just want you to know that these girls are really special to me now. Just like how I wanted to share my love for Super Junior with you, I want you to know and understand these lovely girls too—not just know them, but really get to know them.
I know there are a lot of anti-fans out there who hate these nine girls, but I hope you try to be open-minded. I’ve read some of the hate posts online and it honestly breaks my heart—the lies, the hate, the nonsense. I know I used to dislike them too, but I never talked trash about them.
Meeting and getting to know Girls’ Generation is one of the best things that’s ever happened in my life—just like how it was when I discovered Kim Heechul and Super Junior.
If you ask me to choose between the two groups… honestly, I can’t. I wouldn’t feel complete if one of them was missing. Hahahaha!
